How is this different from ChatGPT or a generic AI career coach?
ChatGPT and generic AI coaches freeform every answer. Ask twice, get two different reads of the same CV — different scores, different priorities, different language. HireGPS runs the same deterministic arithmetic on every CV: eight named scoring categories, forty named recruiter risks, persona-adjusted weights for your target role. The score is reproducible; every rule that fires is traceable to a named line in the catalogue.
Is this an ATS or keyword-matching tool?
No. ATS tools count keyword matches against a job description. HireGPS evaluates how a recruiter would read your CV against a specific role — scope, seniority, achievement evidence, career stability, persona fit — and surfaces named risks. Keyword density is one signal among many, not the answer.
Does HireGPS work for my industry and seniority level?
Yes. The engine covers 21 industries (ISIC-aligned), 20 functions, 10 regions, and 7 seniority levels — 29,400 distinct role profiles, each with persona-adjusted weights inside the app.

How accurate is the shortlist score?
The score is the arithmetic output of explicit rules — not a confidence estimate from a model. Same CV, same target role, same score every run. It reflects how a recruiter trained on the persona's industry and seniority would read your CV today; it does not predict any specific hiring outcome at any specific company.
How many free analyses do I get?
3 analyses per week on the free plan — enough to evaluate different target roles or iterate after making CV changes. Each analysis includes your full shortlist score, decision, and the risks that fired. The full risks report, Rewrite Recommendation, and interview prep are Premium features.
What file formats does HireGPS accept?
PDF and DOCX files up to 10 MB. These are the two formats recruiters and ATS systems actually read, so they are the only formats we support. If your CV is in another format, export it to PDF before uploading.
Can I use HireGPS on mobile?
The web app at hiregps.app works fully on mobile browsers — no download needed. Open it in Safari or Chrome on your phone and it works the same as on desktop. Native iOS and Android apps are in development and will be available on the App Store and Google Play when ready.
THE METHODOLOGY
What does "deterministic, not vibes-based" actually mean?
Three things, all auditable. One, the score is a weighted sum across eight named scoring categories — no temperature, no sampling, no model-confidence blending. Two, the decision (Shortlist / Hold / Reject) comes from explicit numeric thresholds, not a model's vibes. Three, every risk that fires is traceable to a named rule with a Detection, a Relevance, and an Action. Run the same CV against the same target role twice, and you get the same result — every time.
Where do the 40 risks come from?
From the actual objections senior recruiters raise when reading a CV against a role — not a list of red-flag keywords. Each risk has a name, a severity, a trigger condition, and an explanation template. The catalogue is fixed: 5 BLOCKER, 11 HIGH, 17 MODERATE, 7 LOW — 40 risks total.
Will the Rewrite Recommendation engine invent things that aren't on my CV?
No. Faithfulness is enforced as a doctrine, not a soft preference. The Rewrite Recommendation engine reorders, tightens, and sharpens language using only facts you wrote. It cannot add a metric, a credential, a team size, a date, or an achievement that isn't already in the source content.
What are the 8 scoring categories?
The eight categories are: Role & Skill Relevance, Seniority Match, Achievement Evidence, Career Stability, Education & Certification Fit, Language & Market Fit, Context & Scale Match, and CV Clarity. Each is weighted by persona — a Director-level Finance role has different weights than a Mid-Level Marketing role. The category breakdown is shown in full inside the app after each analysis.
PRIVACY & DATA
Is my CV used to train AI models?
No. HireGPS does not use user CV content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any model. AI is used inside the app for parsing CV text, classifying achievement quality, and generating explanation language — every call is bounded and audited. Scoring arithmetic, decision logic, risk triggers, and weight assignment never involve an LLM.
Who can see my CV and analysis results?
Only you. Your CV is encrypted in storage; analyses are scoped to your account. HireGPS staff cannot read your CV content except under explicit user-initiated support access, which you authorise per session and can revoke.
Can I delete my data?
Yes — at any time, with immediate effect. The account screen has a single-action Delete Account control. Deletion removes your CV files, your analyses, your rewrite records, and your account record. We retain only what regulation requires (for example, billing receipts) for the legally mandated period.
How long do you store my CV?
Uploaded CV files are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Your analysis results — scores, risks, and recommendations — are stored in your account until you delete them or close your account. We do not hold your raw CV text longer than the analysis pipeline requires.
PREMIUM & USAGE
What's the fair-usage limit, and what happens if I hit it?
Premium includes up to 10 analyses per rolling 30-day window. Most users run 2–4. If you hit the cap, the next analysis queues until the rolling window opens — you keep full access to your existing analyses, the Rewrite Recommendation engine, and interview prep in the meantime. The cap exists to keep pricing honest; we would rather be explicit than soft about it.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. If you subscribed on the web, go to Settings → Subscription in your HireGPS account and cancel from there. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play (when available), cancel through your device's subscription settings. In both cases, your Premium access continues until the end of your current billing period — you will not lose access immediately.
What does Premium include?
Everything in the free plan, plus: the full risks report (all 40 named risks with severity and action), Rewrite Recommendation (section-by-section, faithfulness-enforced), interview preparation (role-specific questions with coaching notes), and up to 10 analyses per rolling 30-day window.
